Detailed Description
In this walking tour you will have the option to start from two different places, Zoologischer Garten (West) at 10:00 AM or Hackescher Markt (Easte) at 10:30 AM, in both places you will be one of the guides of Insider Berlin waiting for you to begin this great adventure.
You will start to get to know 4 very different Berlin neighborhoods. You can admire the different contrasts that fill the streets of Berlin, alternative culture, immigration and assimilation, are some of the issues facing this city full of an extensive past.
You will visit the courtyards of Mitte, these buildings have been quickly restored to their former splendor after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Now, it has become a center of culture and information technology companies. Next, you will meet Prenzlauer Berg and Kulturbrauerei, the first one is one of the most important neighborhoods in Berlin and the second one has become a center of culture and art.
You will learn about the histories of the districts of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg, where leftist traditional politics are being attacked by new influences. You can also visit the East Side Gallery to learn about the origins and the political message of street art in the city.
Before finishing the tour, you will visit the famous Turkish market, an open-air bazaar on the banks of the beautiful Landwehr canal, at which point the tour ends.
