Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can you simply turn up without a reservation?
Mostly, yes, but not always. For most of the year, you can go up 15 minutes before the start of the tour and buy a ticket without prior reservation, especially for afternoon excursions.
-
Should you tip the guide?
Yes, please, if you think they have worked hard for you and have earned it.
Munich tourism is highly competitive, and this is great news for visitors, since it means that the prices of the tours are cheap. There are some other places in Europe where you can get a 10 hour trip per day, including the cost of your train ticket for less than € 40.00 EUR. However, this is not good news for our guides, since competitive ticket prices impose a limit on the amount we can pay them. For many guides, the advice of satisfied customers can make a difference. If you like the tour, do not hesitate to show your appreciation by inclining the guide.
Please note: do not tilt your guide inside the Dachau memorial site. Doing that goes against the rules of the Memorial.
