Detailed Description
Take a trip back in time to understand the rituals and way of life of the ancient Hawaiians. Afterward, we explore as much of Kilauea Volcano as we can and get as close to the enormous Kilauea Caldera as possible. No one gets you closer. All in the comfort of our air-conditioned, full-sized SUV and with your very own certified interpretive guide. End your day with a dining experience just a few miles from the caldera followed by brief stargazing (weather permitting) before a relaxing drive home. Not to be missed.

Tour departures vary with the seasons, however typical Grand Volcano Adventure tours begin late morning from Kona and Waikoloa Hotel areas. We then make our way along the south coast of the island, stopping to visit multiple historic sites along the way and enjoy a picnic lunch. We then make our way up the slopes of Kilauea Volcano, the world's most active, to see first hand the how a volcano can change the landscape. Here we see the results of explosive volcanic events.
Once at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, we visit popular locations such as the steam vents at Kilauea Caldera, Kilauea Iki crater, Chain of Craters Road, and the opportunity to explore areas on foot as well.
Following an afternoon of exploring, it’s time to sit down and enjoy a comfortable dining experience just a few miles from the summit. Meals are included in the price of the tour and once dinner is complete, we begin our drive back to the hotels. This is the way to see the volcano.
