This tour was created by Forbidden Vancouver’s Chief Storyteller Will Woods and based on documented Vancouver history the plot weaves through back streets and alleyways to a dramatic finale in the heart of Gastown’s Maple Tree Square.

Detailed Description
Venture into Vancouver’s earliest and most gruesome history on the Lost Souls of Gastown. In 1.5 hours you will discover a time when Vancouver was the Granville Town site the wild frontier town that suffered a devastating fire, smallpox outbreaks, and unsolved murders.
Start in the Cathedral Square street and walk into the Gassy Jack statue, the iconic Gastown Steam clock and other creepy places like The CPR rail yards, once 10 feet underwater, sites of the city’s first jailhouse, first bawdy house and first saloon and you will get to see inside the Hotel Victorian, Vancouver’s oldest hotel, ending your tour in the Maple Tree Square, Gastown.

Are the tours wheelchair accessible?
The Forbidden Tour, Lost Souls of Gastown, and Art Deco & Chocolate Tasting walking tours are all wheelchair accessible. Secrets of Stanley Park and Secrets of the Penthouse are not wheelchair accessible.

What if it rains?
Our tours happen rain or shine. Vancouver can be a little wet at times, so we recommend you bring an umbrella. We have crafted tour routes that have scenes under cover wherever possible using roofs, archways, awnings or even indoors. So, there will always be opportunities to stay dry on the tour.
