Matakana Magic Tour

On this full day tour of the Matakana wine region, you will be picked up at your hotel by your guide to travel aboard a mine going to a region famous for its wines, which is only 50 minutes north of downtown Auckland. This wine region houses more than 30 vineyard boutiques, olive groves, restaurants and the popular Saturday Matakana Village and Farmers Market, which offer local food and produce.

During the tour, you will visit Farmers Village and Farmers Market, during the season try the typical Kiwi whitebait or the mussel fritters, or buy locally produced and cultivated cheeses, preserves and fruits. You will also visit the Arts and Crafts Centers, including ceramics and art galleries. Then you will visit Honey Center en route to Matakana, Honey Center offers a wide range of honey-based products (including honey tasting), skin care products and gift items, as well as a close view of a hive in what is known as New Zealand biggest live exhibit of bees.

Surely you will take a peaceful walk along the Anchor Bay, Tawharanui or Omaha beach. Then you will go to Brick Bay Sculpture Trail, located sensitively along this path, you will find around 45 sculptures of the main sculptors of New Zealand.

Afterwards, relax with a wine tasting, a coffee or a shared meal tray (at the customer's expense) in Glass Bay's elegant Glass House restaurant floating on a pond of water lilies. You will also visit the Café lunch in Matakana Village: in one of the sophisticated cafes that are within walking distance of each other. Then you will go to the historic town of Puhoi. You will see the World Sheep, you will walk through the forest among imposing native kauri trees. The last place to visit will be the picturesque Warkworth Township.
