Mine Bay Rock Carvings Tour
On this half day tour, you will navigate kayaking in the waters of Lake Taupo. You will head towards the carved rock while your experienced local guide will explain the history and cultural importance of carving for the lake. You will also enjoy a gourmet snack, you can take advantage of that time to swim in the beautiful waters of the lake. The starting and ending point of the tour will be at Unit 2, 876 Acacia Bay Road, Acacia Bay, Taupo.

Detailed Description
Enjoy a half day tour, the meeting point with your guide will be at Unit 2, 876 Acacia Bay Road, Acacia Bay, Taupo. You will start in the protected waters of the Acacia bay, to head towards the solitary rock carvings in Mine Bay. You will also paddle under native shrubs, beyond cliffs and mini inlets that can only house a kayak before the incredible sculptures of 14 meters high appear. Your experienced guide will explain the cultural importance of carving for the lake and the surrounding areas along the way.
On the way back you will stop for a gourmet snack, where you can take the time to swim in the crystal clear waters of this beautiful lake. No experience with kayaking is needed, as all trips are guided and full instruction is given. Our double kayaks are safe and easy to use for everyone. At the end of the tour, you will return to the same place where you started.

- Please arrive 15 minutes earlier than tour commence time.
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult in our kayaks.
Cancellation Policy
If a customer chooses to cancel:
Up to 48 hours before departure time rebooking at no extra cost, or refund less 10% booking fee
Within 24 to 48 hours before departure time rebooking at no extra cost, or refund less 50%. Within 24 hours of departure or after departure time rebook with a 10% booking fee or no refund.
Cancellation by the Guide:
Taupo kayaking Adventures reserves the right to cancel or amend any tour due to road, track, water or weather conditions. If we cancel a tour due to such circumstances, you will have the following options:
Cancel the day’s outing for a full refund:
Choose an alternate tour or walk option from the Operator’s available services. Customers will be refunded the cost of the tour less the price of the alternative trip chosen.
You will receive no refund:
If you miss the tour departure (e.g sleeping late, unexpected illness or injury, vehicle breakdowns, etc), If we have to cancel the booking due to clients ill health, poor fitness, intoxication.
