Detailed Description
Valencia’s got some serious street art cred. Since the early ’90s, local and international artists have used our walls as an avenue for self-expression and spreading messages to the people from political and satirical commentary to debates over which ingredients make the most authentic paella.
This artistic culture has led to Valencia being one of the best-known cities for street art in Spain, inspiring the birth of many local street art festivals celebrated throughout the year.
The fun will begin as you meet your guide at 4:30 PM as you’ll explore the historic district of El Carmen to uncover some of the city’s best graffiti and street art that’s hidden within the labyrinth of cobbled streets. We’ll share a few local tales and tell you how street art can be so much more than just graffiti on a wall.
From our insider’s perspective, you’ll learn about our local and international artists and their inspirations behind their intriguing works. Even if you don’t know anything about graffiti and street art, we’re sure you’ll love exploring the local neighbourhood and seeing these amazing works with us!
Before we do too much walking, let us treat you to Valencia’s beloved drink, Horchata de chufa (a sweet drink made from tiger nuts), accompanied with a tasty fartón pastry.
Then we’ll finish the tour about 3 hours later at one of our favourite Valencian craft beer bars where you’ll get to sample some local brews. Can you think of a better way to finish off an epic afternoon of local art and culture? We didn’t think so!
