Detailed Description

Once you arrive at the swamp via pickup or drive out, you will board the airboats departing at 9:45 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM or 4:00 PM* (*Seasonal). Then, you can enjoy an hour and 45 minutes guided airboat ride tour of authentic New Orleans swamp, where you will admire wild animals such as alligators, hawks, bald eagles, snakes and more.

Then, you will have time to go down and explore the swamp and waterways of the true side of New Orleans. Even, you will be able to appreciate some crocodiles very closely while you can take amazing pictures with them. In the end, you will return to the pier where you will be transported back to your hotel.

- Swamp tours can be booked by parties between 1 and 60 people.

Swamp Boat Tour includes:

- Glass bottles are not allowed.
- Wear comfortable and cool clothes.
- You will be most of the time on the water, so it is better not to wear any kind of jewellery or valuables.

  1. What kind of swamp tours do you offer?

    We have Covered Swamp Boat tours, as well as small Airboats that seat 1-7 people. Larger Airboat seating 1-20 people.

  2. Do you offer private tours?

    Yes! Please give us a call to make the arrangements.

  3. What kind of animals will we see?

    There are alligators as well as all sorts of avians (birds), reptiles, insects and mammals in the swamp. They all can be more active at different hours depending on the conditions, weather and season. Your boat captain will put you on the best tour possible to see as much as possible.

  4. Is alcohol allowed?

    Of course, It’s Louisiana! Let the good times roll! Please keep in mind this is a family-friendly tour. No glass, please.

  5. When is Bayou Swamp Tours open?

    We are open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 7 days a week. Our phone lines are open even later for reservations!

  6. Are there mosquitoes in the swamp?

    Yes, but they rarely come out during the day. Please leave the spray at home

  7. What happens if the weather is bad?

    Weather calls are up to the boat captain, as he is the subject matter expert. Typically storms blow over fairly quickly and you are still able to get on the water and enjoy your swamp tour. However, severe weather can abbreviate or cancel tours.
