Tortuguero 2 Days / 1 Night

Day 1: Introduction to Tortuguero National Park

Departing at 6:00 AM from your hotel in Puerto Viejo or San José, you can explore the beautiful lands of the Tortuguero National Park for 2 days. This park consists of a large system of canals that irrigate most of the Northern Caribbean area in Costa Rica. Therefore, together with your local guide, you can learn many interesting facts about the protection and biodiversity of the place.

On the way, you will make a stop to enjoy a delicious typical breakfast at the Exploration Center and have a short break to go to the bathroom. Then you will arrive at the hotel where you can stay in your room and check-in.

In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore the town of Tortuguero at your own pace. You can walk its streets, visit shops and learn about the lifestyle of the inhabitants. The night arrives and the most awaited moment of the tour has arrived, you will be able to appreciate when a great variety of sea turtles approach the shore of the beach to lay their eggs (optional).

Day 2: Exploration by boat through the jungle

Early in the morning, you will have breakfast before starting the day's activity. Then, you will start with a boat ride through the channels of the Tortuguero National Park and then you will start with the exploration.

You can admire a variety of animals and plants, the guide will give some explanations, you can take incredible pictures and enjoy the scenery. You will return to the hotel, where you will pick up your luggage and check out, before ending the tours, you will make one last stop at the exploration centre and finally, you will arrive at the same starting point.
