Detailed Description
This 5 hours on wheels tour utilizes the city’s Metro Transit System and trekking for a partial day of unbelievable sightseeing, exploring and discovery. Begin by meeting your guide between Market and Drumm Street with a ride on the California Cable Car that takes us through the Financial District and Chinatown up to the top of Nob Hill.
Stroll past Davies Symphony Hall on the way to our morning break in Hayes Valley, an upscale neighborhood known for its amazing food, fashion and art. From there its underground we go, on the Muni Metro, making our way to the famed Mission District. Many consider the Mission to be the cultural heart and soul of the city, after exploring the rich and colorful history and aesthetics of this neighborhood we head to the famous Castro District where the colors of the rainbow abound.
After the Castro we will continue surface streets, using one of the city’s most scenic bus lines to arrive at the Haight Ashbury then after a short stroll it’s on to the World Famous Painted Ladies at Alamo Square, and the Napa district where we neighborhoods do our best to get a sample of the world famous Bi Rite Ice Cream. As we make our way on the way to Pacific Heights you will be amazed at the sheer number of Victorians we view.
We have found that a soft ending is working well here. There are several bus lines you can take from Market and Drumm Street on your own at the end of the tour. It’s a short bus ride to Fisherman’s Wharf, and Lombard Street, or another bus will take you to the Golden Gate Bridge.
