Detailed Description
Day 1: Arrival at Tortuguero National Park
We will pick you up at 6:00 AM in the lobby of your hotel in San Jose. Our naturalist guide will welcome you and assist you to board the bus to the rainforests of Tortuguero located in the Northeast of the Caribbean in the province of Limón. During the trip, you will admire the biodiversity of the spectacular Braulio Carrillo National Park, whose extension is covered by a dense primary forest.
After the park, the first stop will be at El Ceibo Restaurant, in the plains of Guapiles, to enjoy the delicious Costa Rican breakfast. Continuing the journey through banana plantations, until you reach the river port to board the boat and let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you while travelling through the Tortuguero canals surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna of impressive beauty.
Upon arrival in Tortuguero, you will be greeted with a refreshing cocktail and a delicious lunch while we welcome you to Hotel Pachira Lodge and start enjoying your room in the middle of the rainforest.
After lunch, we will visit the Museum of the Green Turtle (STC), the beach area and the small and picturesque village of Tortuguero, then return to the hotel to rest and enjoy the pool while waiting for the exquisite dinner at the hotel's restaurant.
Day 2: Boat ride to the rainforests
With the first rays of the sun, an optional tour will be offered to experience the exotic nature in a boat trip through the channels between the humid forests contemplating the Caribbean sunrise, to return to the hotel where a varied and delicious breakfast awaits you. Then, you can get in touch with the exuberant vegetation by walking the private path of the lodge discovering the birds and fauna in their natural habitat.
At noon, a delicious lunch will be served at the lodge before enjoying the boat ride through the channels of the Tortuguero National Park of majestic scenic beauty and natural wealth. Then, the rest of the day will be free to enjoy the facilities of the hotel and enjoy dinner included in the restaurant.
Turtle nesting: Between the months of July to September there is a large arrival of green turtles on the beach of Tortuguero, being possible to admire the nesting through an optional night tour whose price is $ 35.00 USD per adult or child offered by the hotel.
Day 3: Return to San José
Wake up to the birds singing and get ready to savour the tasty breakfast at the lodge. Then prepare for the trip back to your hotel in San José by boarding the boat that will start the journey through the channels to the port where the bus ride will continue to the La Ceiba restaurant for lunch and continue arriving in the afternoon to your hotel in San José.

Cancellation of an individual:
15 days before the arrival of the passenger, there will be no surcharge.
14 to 8 days before the arrival of the passenger, 50% will be charged.
7 to 4 days before the arrival of the passenger will be charged 75%.
3 days before the arrival of the passenger, 100% will be charged.
Group cancellations: (minimum 10 passengers):
45 days before the entrance of the group, will not take charge.
44-30 days before group entry, 50% will be charged.
29-15 days before group entry, 75% will be charged.

How much is the distance from San José to Tortuguero?
The distance between the centre of the city of San José and the Tortuguero National Park is approximately 130 km. The travel time is between 4 hours and 5 hours, we must contemplate the stop in Guápiles for breakfast.

Does the hotel have conditioned air?
No. Because we are a hotel with sustainability policies and with a commitment to the environment, we do not have air conditioning, however, all our rooms have ceiling fans.

Is there a luggage weight limit?
Yes. The maximum weight allowed per person is 25 pounds (12.5kg).

How much does the entrance to the National Park cost?
The price of admission to the park is $15.00 USD per adult and $5.00 USD per child between the ages of 5 and 11 years old. Children under 4 years old do not pay.

Is this an all inclusive hotel?
The hotel does not offer all-inclusive services. The packages include transportation by bus and boat to and from San Jose, lodging, all meals in buffet style, guided tours, bilingual guide throughout the itinerary, coffee service 24 hours and taxes.
